Former Texas officer who shot 15-year-old teen sentenced to 15 years

An unarmed black teenager was shot dead by a white former officer. Justice was served, and the former officer was found guilty and sentenced to 15 years.

The family thought that he got what he deserved, but some people still argued that it wasn’t enough.

This kid could have been the next Lebron James, or the next Obama for all we know, but his future was taken away and now he’s dead.

Some argued that race played a factor here, that it is all “white privilege”, and a black man in a similar situation would have been sentenced to life.

But regardless of race, actions come with consequences.

Even if 15 years might not be enough, but that’s 15 years of Jordan Edwards’ life that he’s going to pay for.

The justice system might not be there yet, but it’s a start.

As a nation, color shouldn’t be a factor when it comes to justice, and call it naive, but actions should come with consequences regardless of who you are.
